Rachelle Van Winkle, DNP, RN

Rachelle is an enthusiastic and authentic leader with a passion for transforming healthcare. She has over 20 years of healthcare experience working for both -profit and non-profits, academic medical centers (AMC), community and critical access hospitals (CAH). She has a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Duke University School of Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Healthcare Systems Management from Loyola University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Art from Ohio Dominican University. Her certifications include Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belts and Duke Certified Patient Safety Officer.
Additionally, Rachelle worked for The Joint Commission (TJC) in the Hospital Accreditation and Perinatal Disease Specific Certification Programs as a surveyor and team leader. Her areas of expertise include high-level disinfection and sterilization, perinatal services, patient safety, high reliability, quality and performance improvement (QAPI), and leadership structure. Rachelle has surveyed ~200 hospitals across 35 states. Most recently, Rachelle was Director of Accreditation and Regulatory Affairs for a large healthcare system, an accreditation advisor across a 14-hospital system, and chaired the System Accreditation and Regulatory Roundtable. She has managed accreditation programs at three different organizations, which included: an AMC, a CAH, two community hospitals, a psychiatric hospital, continuing care, and outpatient services. She is well-versed in DNV, TJC, and CMS conditions of participation.
